Individuals
Self-Assessment
Self Assessment is the system HMRC uses to collect Income Tax from individuals whose tax is not fully collected through PAYE.
The tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April the following year.
You may need to file a Self Assessment tax return if you are self-employed, receive rental income, have untaxed income, need to report capital gains, receive income from abroad, are a partner in a business partnership, or have other tax circumstances that HMRC requires you to report.
Rules and thresholds can change, so we can assess whether you need to file a return and take the time, pressure and stress away from you by calculating your tax position and filing on your behalf.
